Blackwater Hardware is the latest project from my friend Glen Brady. I met Glen in New York in 2007 when he was a member of The Glass and doing a lot of gigs as DJ Wool. Andy Rourke and I remixed a couple of tracks for him (as Jetlag) before Glen took off for Berlin. If you can't find the vinyl, those tracks are up on SoundCloud: (Washed Up/Plant Music, and this madness too: The Dark Snuggler.)
We reconnected in 2015 in California when Dolores and I moved out to Los Angeles. We've done some recording and touring together since then and will likely do a bit more.
Live footage: D.A.R.K. rehearsals December 6th, 2015
with Andy Rourke (The Smiths) on bass; Rob Ritchie on guitar; Bryan Bisordi on drums and sampler; vocals by Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries) and Olé Koretsky.
D.A.R.K. is an unlikely collaboration between Dolores O’Riordan, Andy Rourke and Olé Koretsky. Dolores, known famously as the singer of The Cranberries. Andy Rourke is best known as the inimitable bass player in one of the most important British bands ever, The Smiths. The third and final member is Olé Koretsky, a songwriter, producer and DJ based in New York.
“Yes, death. Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forget life, to be at peace.”
Check out the music video our friend Vinz directed. It was recorded on 8mm film. We like it and we hope you like it too. Check back soon to hear more music from our soon to be released LP. Thanks.
